Traveling to / from Italy
As per the restrictions imposed by Italian authorities, on flights to / from Italy passengers cannot place loose items of clothing into overhead bins. Any items of loose clothing should be placed within the hand luggage or kept with the passenger.
You will be able to carry a small handbag/briefcase (that does not exceed 40x30x15cm) provided it can be stored under the seat in front of you. The normal allowed carry-on baggage (up to 8kgs and 55cmx40cmx20cm) will be transported in the hold free of charge. It must be dispatched at check-in before going to the boarding gate.
Traveling from Berlin
For flights departing from Berlin, and as per measures imposed by airport security, passengers should only transport one piece of hand luggage and any remaining luggage should be checked in. Prior to arriving at security control, passengers should store all the contents of their pockets within their jacket or the hand luggage, and larger electronic items (laptops, tablets and medical devices) as well as the bag for carrying liquids should be taken out of hand luggage for security verification.

What can be a personal item?
- A purse or a computer bag or shoulder bag (maximum size: 40x30x15 cm / 16x12x5 in);
- Auxiliary mobility equipment;
- Medical devices (by prescription/prior approval);
- With a maximum weight of 2 Kg/4.4 Ib.

The charges payable for excess (number, size and/or weight):
If you exceed the permitted limits in terms of number of pieces, size and/or weight, the respective charges will be paid at the boarding gate, and payment is only possible by credit card.

Where to stow your carry-on baggage
Carry-on baggage must be placed underneath the seat in front of you whenever possible.
On flights that are very full, some hand baggage may need to be checked and carried in the hold due to the lack of space in the cabin. When this happens, the baggage will be checked at the boarding gate and can be collected at baggage reclaim carousel at your destination.
If is too big, or if you are seated in an emergency exit row or the first row of the cabin, the baggage should be placed in the overhead luggage bin.
Selfie sticks and electronic cigarettes can be transported in the cabin, but their use is strictly prohibited.

Televisions and other screens

Transportation of alcoholic beverages and other liquids as hand baggage
Alcoholic beverages - up to 24% alcohol and from 24% to 70% alcohol:Allowed when permitted by the local authorities:
1) When purchased outside the airport, they must comply with the limits on the carrying of liquids on board.
2) When bought in the duty free shops (inside the airport), they comply with the rules of the local authorities of the final destination.
3) Transportation of handcrafted drinks is not permitted.
4) Alcoholic beverages transported as hand luggage cannot be consumed on board.
Liquids can only be transported in containers of 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) or less per item, up to a maximum total of 1 quart (1 liter) per passenger. These should be packed in a 1 quart (19 cm x 20 cm) clear plastic bag with an easy opening and closing system.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer
The total net quantity of all such articles carried by each passenger must not exceed 2 kg or 2 L and the net quantity of each single article must not exceed 0.5 kg or 0.5 L.
Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is acceptable as carry-on or checked baggage. However, it should be noted that where passengers wish to have the hand sanitizer in their carry-on baggage that the limit of 100 mL or equivalent per item for liquids and gels in accordance with the aviation security provisions applies (if no local exemption has been defined by the Competent Authorities).
Please bear in mind that such articles shall not be used on any aircraft equipment or surfaces, as they have not been approved by the Aircraft Manufacturer.
