Check-in for flights to Luanda and Maputo

As of August 19, 2020, the printing of boarding passes (online or at airport kiosks) for the routes of Lisbon to Luanda and Lisbon to Maputo are prohibited. Passengers are still able to check-in online, but retrieval of the boarding pass will only be available at the airport, through a check-in agent.

Thus, all passengers will have to go through a check-in counter upon arrival at the airport, to verify that the necessary conditions to travel to the destination in question are met, prior to going to the departure gate.

Social media fraud

We alert our Clients and all those who follow us on our social networks to the existence of fraudulent pages available on Facebook and Instagram that impersonate TAP, creating fraudulent situations for all those who contact them.

All of our social networks are certified with a symbol that attests to their veracity. All other pages are fraudulent and were created only with the intention of circumventing our customers.

COVID TEST - Passengers traveling to Portugal

There are more and more countries and destinations to which TAP is flying to and from Portugal.

Find out here if you need to present a COVID test with a negative result to be able to travel to Portugal.

COVID TEST IS NOT NEEDED IF YOU ARE TRAVELING FROM:

Countries that are part of the European Union, associated with the Schengen Area (Liechtenstein, Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) and the United Kingdom.
Countries whose epidemiological situation is in accordance with the recommendations regarding air connections with Portugal, namely Canada.

MANDATORY COVID TEST, WITH A NEGATIVE RESULT, IN ORDER TO BOARD IS NEEDED FOR:

All TAP passengers (including Portuguese citizens and residents of Portugal) on flights from countries that are not part of the European Union, or that are not countries associated with the Schengen Area or from the United Kingdom or Canada, must present proof of RT-PCR testing for COVID-19, with a negative result, performed within 72 hours prior to the time of departure, or they will be denied boarding.
For example the United Stated of America and Brazil.

NOTE - The test must be a molecular RT-PCR test and rapid tests are not acceptable.

EXCEPTIONS TO THE RULE OF MANDATORY PRESENTATION OF NEGATIVE TEST RESULTS BEFORE BOARDING:

Passengers transferring in Portugal with a connecting flight outside of national territory are exempt from presenting the test as long as the connecting flight takes place on the same calendar day and they do not leave the boarding area within the airport;
Passengers of Portuguese nationality and passengers with legal residence in Portugal, on flights originating in African Portuguese speaking countries or any origin in a third country on repatriation or humanitarian flight:
- Will be allowed to board without proof of testing, however they will be tested upon arrival at the Portuguese airport, at their own expense, and must wait for the results at their residence (for reference, the test costs 100 €).

In accordance to the directives of DGS and ANAC, all passengers will be requested to fill out the Passenger Locator Card, on all flights arriving to the following Portuguese airports: Humberto Delgado airport (Lisbon), Francisco Sá Carneiro (Porto) and Faro airport (Faro).

Symptomatic passengers identified at the airport by public health authorities may be refused to continue their journey.

Mandatory use of face mask

Use of a face mask is mandatory on board all TAP flights. Therefore, all our passengers, aged over 6, must be equipped with one and guarantee that it is used during the entire duration of the journey.

The use of a face mask will only be exempted for passengers who are proven to have health problems that cannot use it. In these cases, prior to the flight and in order to travel, the passenger must have a medical authorization (MEDIF). Otherwise, boarding will be denied.

We also advise our passengers to inform themselves on specific regulations that may exist at their points of origin and destination, for example that fact that it is already compulsory at many airports to wear a face mask.

Restrictions for the transport of baggage on flights to and/or from Abidjan, Accra, Bissau, Dakar, Praia, Sao Vicente and Sao Tome.

Due to space limitations on our aircrafts, during certain times of the year, purchase of extra baggage transportation is restricted for the following destinations and periods:

Travelling to Abidjan, Accra, Bissau*, Dakar, Praia, Sao Vicente and Sao Tome:
- Summer – 13 June to 30 August 2020*
- Christmas – from 11 December 2020 to 10 January 2021
- Easter - from 19 March, 2021 to 4 April, 2021

Departing from Abidjan and Accra:
- Summer – 13 June to 13 September 2020
- New Year’s – 26 December 2020 to 10 January 21
- Easter - from 5 April, 2021 to 12 April, 2021

*Note: Bissau as a final destination will be under an embargo until September 30th, 2020.

The trips whose destination is Abidjan, Accra, Bissau, Dakar, Praia, São Tomé and São Vicente and whose origin is Abidjan, Accra and Lome will not allow excess baggage (weight and / or dimensions) on the allowance associated with the fare, the purchase of extra baggage, nor the transportation of animals, sports equipment or musical instruments dispatched to the hold. The number of pieces accepted will be in accordance to what is indicated on the ticket and, for each piece, the sum of the three dimensions (height + length + width) cannot exceed 158cm, with a maximum weight of 23kg, in Economy and 32kg, in Executive class.

This restriction is applied to all tickets, regardless of the product that is acquired or the Passenger’s Frequent Flyer status, with the exception of tap|discount tickets, where it is possible to add the transport of one piece of baggage.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer.

The total net quantity of all such articles carried by each passenger must not exceed 2 kg or 2 L and the net quantity of each single article must not exceed 0.5 kg or 0.5 L.

Alcohol-based hand sanitizer is acceptable as carry-on or checked baggage. However, it should be noted that where passengers wish to have the hand sanitizer in their carry-on baggage that the limit of 100 mL or equivalent per item for liquids and gels in accordance with the aviation security provisions applies (if no local exemption has been defined by the Competent Authorities).

Please bear in mind that such articles shall not be used on any aircraft equipment or surfaces, as they have not been approved by the Aircraft Manufacturer.
